I have installed RC-WinTrans v7.3.6.1 since a year and do translations with it.
Today I installed v9.2 Global.
When I choose in menu: File -> Migration: V7-Database
a Error-Message comes up saying: "RC-WinTrans 7 is not installed! The requested operation requires RC-WinTrans 7 be available."
What can I do?

is it possible to add it manually?
If yes I can do. Can you post an example how the *.reg should look like?
I tried this but it doesn't work:

Hi,
no way even after Repair it down't work.
Still the entry {FFCD3AE7-16B2-48D3-85BC-6FEFFB4870FA} isn't found in the Registry.
But even on a computer of my college where it works, there way no such entry in Registry.
v7 and v9 installed in different folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\RC-WinTrans\RC-WinTrans 9 Global\Program\RCWinTrans9.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\RC-WinTrans 7\Program\RCT70.exe
or doesn't it matter? |

Tested on two other Computer on which RC-WinTrans have never been installed. Same problem. |

I have the same error after install v9.4. I tried to install VB6 but it fails. Even Microsoft says it's too old.

Hello,
just to be sure:
It means that I can't run v9.4 on this computer.
How to solve it now? Install v9.4 on a VMware machine or keep v9.2? Seems that v9.2 is more WIN 8.1 compatible then v9.4.  |

v9.4: Write Target of a CSV (Tab separated) fails

I have several CSV files (Tab separated) and RESX files in one project. Source language is German, target language is English.
When I write the target file for RESX then I get *.resx with the English language.
When I write the target file for CSV then I get *.csv with the German language.
Open I the same project with v9.2 and write the target files for CSV then I get the *.csv with English language.
I installed and tested v9.4 on a Windows 8.1 and on a Windows 7. On both I get the wrong language in the target CSV. |

I managed to make it working on Win8 and Win8.1.
Download: http://www.chip.de/downloads/Visual-Basic-2010-Express_24082907.html and install it.
Now RCWT v9.4 is working.
I did it this way:
- install RCWT v9.4 -> start it -> get Errors
- kill the task via Taskmanager
- download and install vbasic_web.exe
- start RCWT v9.4 -> works |

I have a RCWT v9.4 project which is running very slow. It takes 4 minutes to open it. The filesize of the FSMDB is 8,5 MB. When I create a new project and import the translations then the new FSMDB has only 4,6 MB and runs much faster.
Is there a tool to clean up the projects or clean up the databases? |

It's what I need to know. We have it in a source control system (SVN). When changing to RWTXLF I hope collisions can be handled more easier without loose much work as we have today since everything is in one database. |

To avoid this behavior I have converted our projects into the RWTXLF format.

- NO prj open in RCWT
- Menu: Tools -> Maintenance -> Convert Translation Project |

.NET Framework 3.5 is installed.
Have you tried to start RCWT with Admin permissions? |
