The RC-WinTrans 7 setup program is registering the RC-WinTrans 7 application. Run the setup once again: new installation or with the option "Repair"
Make sure the setup can change the Windows registry.

You must use the setup for the latest RC-WinTrans 7 (build: 7.3.95.1, October 2010) because we added the registration to this setup program. Please download this version and run this latest installation file.

Hello lakuda!
You can set the (1) reading order (RTL, right-to-left) and (2) the right-to-left layout.
What to do? Option 1: (for the form/dialog- see image) - Select the title text ($this.text) of the form/dialog. - Activate the "Group Items" tab where the form's properties are listed. - Select the property "$this.RightToLeft" and set the value to "Yes". - Select the property "$this.RightToLeftLayout" and set the value to "True". - Ready.
Option 2: (using the External .NET Forms Editor- see image) - Open the External .NET Forms Editor. - Select the form. - Set "RightToLeft" to "Yes". - Set "RightToLeftLayout" to "True". - Ready.

Yes. It is already done for the next RC-WinTrans 9.2 release (October 2012?). "Farsi" was missing in an internal list of RTL languages. . edited by Support on 09.10.2012 |

Hello Burckhardt,
is your translation project using XML (.rwtxlf) data files for the database or an .fsmdb database file? Are there one or more source files in the project?

Hello dstehle,
to add the RESX files of a VS project use:
. "File" | "Add" | "RESX Files of a .NET Project..." or . "File" | "Align .NET Files..."
In the "Visual Studio .NET Project" dialog you can select (Browse... button) your VS project file(s) (*.csproj).
Do not edit the RC-WinTrans project definition file (*.rwtproject) directly.

So you have about 250 VS projects (.csproj files) ?! To add several RESX file (in different folders) to an RC-WinTrans project you can use the following (manusl) way: - use the File Exporer. From your VS project's root folder make a "'Search" for the RESX files. - use Drag&Drop to move the RESX files found/listed from the "Search Results" window to the opened RC-WinTrans project window. -> the RESX file will be added to the project at once in this way.

"The advantage of adding the project files is that only the used resx files added. And no dead resx files are used." Yes. Right.
We have created the user interface to add only one single .NET project files file at a time. We did not assume sombody want to add several at once -- sorry, but so it is made.

Hallo AlexC,
Yes. This is a known problem for /IsTranslated. I will send you a fixed RC-WinTrans System VBA macro file: "CmdLine.macro". Replace the macro file in your RC-WinTrans installation. This new macro file will be included in the next RC-WinTrans 9 service release end of December 2012.

Update files reference
Support Administrator
|
Hello, > I tried to open the fsmdb with msAccess, and changed the "FileName" in the ""SourceFiles" Table, but when I open the project then, > I got an error "file not exist...' > This does not work because the path must be changed in the project definition file .rwtproject and in the database (.fsmdb). Do not change the path manually!
Question: Is your database file (.fsmdb) located in a root directory relative to (all) the source files? ..then you can move your project structure (folders + files + RC-WinTrans database) to the new location. This is possible when RC-WinTrans is using a relative path from the project file (.rwtproject, .fsmdb) to each source file. . You can check if a relative path to a source file is used: - open the project definition file .rwtproject (it is a Windows INI file) - for a/each file check the entry...
Example for two entries with a relative path: [ROJECTFILE0] WorkingFile=..\sub2\srcfilea.rwtxlf [ROJECTFILE1] WorkingFile=subdir\srcfileb.rwtxlf
When no drive or server name is used for the 'WorkingFile' then it is a relative path and the whole project can be moved. Please check this and let me know.
With a script the path cannot be changed. Only via the GUI but file by file: "Changing a Source File Reference"

Hello JM,
for RC-WinTrans 7 or 9 ?
The RC-WinTrans 7 script does not consider repetitions. For RC-WinTrans 9 we have an add-on: "Extra Functions"...

Hello JM,
we have improved the add-on's "Statistics: Active Project" function to report each file and finally a summary for the project. See: Release Notes... and Statistics Results...
You can download the new "Extra Functions" Add-On from our customer download area or from the "RC-WinTrans Demo" download site. New Add-On Version: V6.4 (February 2013)
Maybe it would be a good idea to write the results directly to a text file because the output will be huge for hundreds of files? Let us know what you think.

xaml

Hello Lakuda,
this is the result of an XSL transformation used to create the translated XAML file. The XSL transformation adds the namespaces (xmlns) to each element (to each <sys:String> ).
Note: The target XAML file is valid XAML (!) ...but does not look as good as the source XAML.
We have improved this for our XML Files Converter now. The new "XMLFilesConverter.macro" file ("XML-2029, March 2013") will be included in the next RC-WinTrans 9 service release (following V9.2.2.2).
If you want I can send you the improved "XMLFilesConverter.macro" file and you can replace it in your RC-WinTrans installation.

Images have "Unknown Type (Stringtable)"
Support Administrator

Hello James, RC-WinTrans handles images only when the image data is included (internally) in the RESX file. Your image is included as a reference to an image file- RC-WinTrans does not accept this for image editing. To translate the image you need to make a copy of the image file, then edit/translate the duplicate image with an image editor. In RC-WinTrans you need to enter the name of the duplicated image file as the translation. Regards, Support, Schaudin.com . edited by Support on 18.04.2013 |

Error using RCWInTrans with Continuous integration
Support Administrator
|
Hello farhan,
This is difficult. I do not know who generates the error and why. An error message "An error occurred! Please check the project and language settings in this batch file." I have never seen or heard about.
The problem may be forced because ... - the fact that the command line tool (rwtcmd.exe) starts and uses RC-WinTrans as COM server (?) - a command (from rwtcmd.exe) comes faster then the .NET garbage collection (GC) from the previous RC-WinTrans usage (previous command) is cleared (?). (RC-WinTrans uses many .NET objects each in combination with COM objects. The number increases with the size of a project ).

RC-WinTrans 7 and RC-WinTrans 9 can be installed and used under Windows 8.
To run Version 7 or 9 of RC-WinTrans on Windows 8:
In the "Windows Features" dialog, locate and enable the Windows 8 feature called ".NET Framework 3.5 (including .NET 2.0 and 3.0)".
Note: This Windows 8 feature is disabled by default. It must be enabled (set to "ON") in order to run RC-WinTrans, for which the .NET Framework 2.0 is a requirement. When .NET 2.0 is disabled it causes RC-WinTrans to crash when opening or creating a translation project. |
